防爆設備CE認證（ATEX指令）概述：
ATEX易爆炸環境（ATmosphere EXlosible）縮寫。1994年3月23日，歐洲委員會採用了“潛在爆炸環境用的設備及保護系統”（94/9/EC）指令。新ATEX指令2014/34/EU己於2014年發佈，並將於2016年4月20日強制執行，中間沒有過渡期。這個指令覆蓋了礦井及非礦井設備，與以前的指令不同，它包括了機械設備及電氣設備，把潛在爆炸危險環境擴展到空氣中的粉塵、可燃性氣體、可燃性蒸氣與薄霧。它規定了擬用於潛在爆炸性環境設備的應用技術要求、基本健康、安全要求和設備在其使用範圍內投放到歐洲市場前必須採用的合格評定程式。
ATEX防爆指令核心要求：保護人們的安全和健康，以及在一定情況下保護家畜的健康和財產安全，特別是要格外保護工人免遭潛在爆炸性環境適用的設備和體統所產生的危害。
ATEX認證產品範圍：
1.ATEX認證涉及的產品
ATEX認證 適用的設備範圍特別大，大致上包括固定的海上平臺、石化廠、麵粉磨坊及其他可能存在潛在爆炸性環境場所所適用的設備。
1)ATEX認證電氣類設備：
電氣類設備是指包含電子部件，用於產生、儲存、分配、轉換電能的設備或用電能為能量的控制設備
2)ATEX認證非電氣設備
只有機械運動的設備，這些運動的部件會產生引爆源（如：熱的表面，摩擦火花等）如減速箱、風扇、壓縮機、制動器、攪拌機，非電氣設備通常和電氣設備連接以提供動能。
2.ATEX認證不涉及的產品：
1）擬用於醫療環境下的醫療器械
2）爆炸危險完全是由於爆炸性物質或不穩定的化學物質所引起的那些設備和防護系統；
3）擬用於家庭和非商業性環境下的設備，在這種環境下很少形成潛在爆炸性氣體；
4）若發生也僅只是燃氣洩露事故的結果；
5）包括在指令89/686/EEC之中的個人防護裝置；
6）航海船舶和移動式離岸裝置連同其上的設備；
7）運輸工具，即通過空運或公路，鐵路或水運網路專門用於運送旅客的車輛及其拖車，以及設計用來通過空中、公路或鐵路網或水道運送貨物的運輸工具。擬在爆炸性環境使用的車輛將不包括在內。

ATEX認證區域分類
ATEX 94/9/EC指令根據安裝設備的保護水準，可將設備劃分為三個類別：
（1）1類（Category 1）－非常高的防護水準
（2）2類（Category 2）－高防護水準
（3）3類（Category 3）－正常的防護水準
